Kathie Metz

Kathie Metz was born and educated in Huntington, WV. She is a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in music education.

Kathie has served churches as organist and director of music in West Virginia, Michigan, and Maryland. In addition to her membership on the Board of Area III of AGEHR, she is on the board of the Baltimore Chapter of The American Guild of Organists, and is a member of the Choristers Guild. She served two terms as the Northeastern Jurisdiction Representative of The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts.

At Towson UMC, where she has served 21 years, she is the organist and directs a music department that includes 6 singing and 3 ringing choirs. She has served at Fellowship Convocations as clinician in organ, accompanist for choral workshops, and organist for services. On the local level, she has served as clinician for handbell workshops, the introduction of The Faith We Sing hymnal. and has been on the faculty for Leadership Days in Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Kathie and her husband, Dan, have lived in Cockeysville, MD, 32 years and have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren.
