Fran has been ringing handbells for over 20 years. She first heard bells when her husband and family were stationed in SHAPE, Belgium. The SHAPE Chapel handbell choir, directed by Charm Peterman, played for an Officer's Wives Club luncheon ("Rainbow Song" sung on Sesame Street by Kermit the Frog!) and she was hooked. In addition to ringing with a community bell choir (Blue Ridge Ringers), Fran also plays in a dulcimer band (Olde Tyme Strummers). The rest of her time, when not doing membership stuff, is taken up with visits to her 5 grandchildren (in CA, FL and NC) and then trying to scrap all the photos she's snapped. Fran Hoadley |
