C. Milton Rodgers, III

C. Milton Rodgers, III is the Minister of Music and Organist at Grace United Methodist Church, Manassas, VA and as such administers a 16-choir system and a monthly concert series. Having received his Master's and Bachelor's of Music from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, Mr. Rodgers was invited to do post-graduate work at the Westfälische Landeskirchenmusikschule in Germany. In Northern Virginia he sits on the board of the Manassas Community Concert Association, the NoVa/Manassas Community Orchestra, the Prince William Symphony and has been Professional Concerns Chairperson of the Executive Board of the Northern Virginia American Guild of Organists chapter. He is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and as such, votes for the Grammy Awards.

While in Germany Mr. Rodgers led handbell workshops all over former East and West Germany. One highlight of his life was being iin Germany when the Berlin Wall came down. He co-directed the First German National Handbell Festival. He has taught other courses for the American Guild of Handbell Ringers and returns regularly to Europe to teach handbells. Mr. Rodgers took the Parrish Bell Choir of Grace United Methodist Church on a Mission tour of former East and West Germany. The choir trained German handbell choirs in current ways of playing handbells.

Milton has been the video librarian for Area III since 1999 and has led workshops at Directors’ Seminars and Adult Festivals. He has also been the Northern Virginia representative for the AGEHR
