Frequently Asked Questions

1. The children's choir -what age group (may affect range)?

Older Elementary/Middle School (prior to voice changing) or 7th-12th grade.  Either age can be targeted.

2. What size group - even if miked may affect the texture and density.

The vocal score may include from a solo singer to a full choir.  The vocal line is unison.

3. Choir presumes lyrics - must they be original, or can be public domain, or from the Bible for example?

This piece needs to be playable in schools.  We are looking for an inspirational original text appropriate for young people.

4. If a sacred text, does a secular alternative have to be provided.

The text itself should be a single version, usable in both secular (school) and sacred settings.

5. If instrument instead, any limitations (because of availability of performers).

For performance, the bell score must be able to stand alone and the vocal score may be optional. An optional instrumental line may also be offered to replace the vocal score.
