  • Bronze Conference Choir
The Area III Bronze Conference Choir is held each year in conjunction with one of the Spring Festivals. The purpose of the choir is to give individual advanced ringers and directors a chance to prepare and perform difficult repertoire under the baton of an outstanding conductor.

The site for the Bronze Conference Choir rotates among the three Spring Festival venues. The 2006 event will be held in Hampton, Virginia, on Friday, March 31st, and Saturday, April 1st. The guest conductor will be Michael Joy. Ringers will rehearse from noon on Friday until early afternoon on Saturday and then perform several pieces as part of the final festival concert. The repertoire for the 2006 choir is as follows:

All Glorious Above - arr. Fred Gramann
Five Four Waltz - Kenneth Lowenberg
    Metamorphosis - Michael Helman
    Sicilienne - Faure/arr. Robert Currier
    Toccata Ritmica - Michael Joy

In order to apply for this special choir, send a request for an application form to Linda Lamb at Kenlamb1944@msn.com. Linda will send you a two-part form--one for the ringer to complete and one for a director or other competent musician to complete. Together, these two forms provide a good overall picture of the ringer's ability.

If accepted into the Bronze Conference Choir, a person must register for the Hampton festival and also pay an extra $25.00 for a BCC shirt and the music, furnished for all the ringers.

  • Bronze Festival Choir
The Bronze FESTIVAL Choir is a group of choirs who are registered for one of the Spring Festivals and who choose to go the second mile and learn a piece that is more difficult then the regular festival repertoire. This piece for 2006 is "Lo, He Comes with Clouds Descending" by Susan Nelson. If your choir would like to learn this piece and play it in the final concert, you will need to send a recording of your performance of this piece to the Area III Events Coordinator. The recordings that are received will be evaluated by an anonymous committee who will choose the choirs to participate the Bronze Festival Choir. Please contact Frances Vaughan at FSVaughan@aol.com for further information.
