Fall 2006 Director's Seminar is September 15-16 at
Centreville UMC Church in Centreville, VA.
Dr. Deborah
Carr, from Columbia, Missouri, will be the clinician.
Friday
afternoon (1:30 p.m.) in a 3 hour pre-seminar offering, Deb will cover
"Why We Love Handbells: The Psychology and Sociology of
Ringing."
Friday night, she will lead a reading session.
Saturday
she will do workshops with her emphasis on "Ringing to Bronze," classes
include:
I. -The ALPHA: the Spirituality
of Directors and Ringers
II.-Oh, Those
Personalities: Advanced Psychological Techniques for working With
Individuals and Groups
III. -Saving
Precious Rehearsal Time: Score Analysis Designed to Improve Learning and
Retention
IV.-The OMEGA: Coming Full
Circle - Literally and Figuratively !
During Sessions II and III,
Dottie Tweedie will work with beginning directors
covering basic conducting patterns, rehearsal tips and handbell techniques
(and ways to successfully teach them.)
Your registration form must be
postmarked by August 1, 2006 in order to ensure that you will receive a
music packet. Late registrants cannot be guaranteed a packet at the
seminar.
