Resource Lending Policy

  • All requests for borrowing videos / DVDs must be made in writing to the person in charge of the Videotape Lending Library.
  • A check, payable to AREA III, AGEHR, for $5.00 per video / DVD, must accompany the request. This money will cover the cost of mailing the videos and a small rental fee.
  • A second check, payable to AREA III, AGEHR, for $10.00 per video / DVD, must accompany the request. This check will be held as a late fee for returning the video / DVD. If the video / DVD is returned by the indicated date, the check will be returned. Otherwise it will be deposited.
  • The borrower is responsible for the mailing cost of returning each video / DVD. The videos / DVDs must be returned in padded envelopes or video boxes and must be sent priority mail.
  • Video / DVD must be returned within three weeks of the time they are sent. This allows for "travel time" and gives the borrower two weeks for using the video.
  • More than one video / DVD may be requested. However, the request should indicate which video / DVD is most wanted, as it is often impossible to send more than one video promptly.
  • Copying videotapes / DVDs is illegal. It’s an infringement of copyright laws. Area III maintains the Resource Lending Library for instructional purposes and as a service to you, its members.

What's New in the Video / DVD Library

We have three new videos to offer:

Classical Bells in Concert (C-491)
This mostly female handbell choir from Michigan presents several handbell pieces in a very lively style. Selections included are Griffin's "Passacaglia" and McKechnie's "This Is My Father's World".

Music in Motion by Handbells Unlimited! (M-12)
The talented Beth Klein and David Jordan present such handbell pieces as McChesney's "Glory" and Chopin's "Nocturne Opus 72 No. 1". Two of the duo's signature pieces, "Hernando's Hideaway" and "Me and My Shadow" are also included.

Tinkling Handbells (T-18)
This video, featuring the Katsumi Kodama Echo Handbell Ringers is a sort of a handbell MTV music video. Handbell music accompanies beautiful scenery and shots of this famous Japanese handbell choir playing. Selections include Buckwalter's "Soliloquoy", Bach's "Siciliana" and the Debussy "Golliwogg's Cakewalk". This is a fun and visual video which creates lovely lasting pictures to accompany beautiful handbell music.
